Let’s recall that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (then still under the working title Death Stranding 2) was announced at The Game Awards 2022 and was expected to be released during 2025.
As it became known, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will go on sale on June 26, 2025 exclusively for PS5 at a price of $70 for the standard edition. Pre-orders will open a week later, on March 17.
The $80 Deluxe Edition will include early access to the game (from June 24), while the $230 Collector’s Edition will include all the bonuses from the previous set, a 14-inch Magellan figurine, a 3-inch Dollman keychain, and a letter from Hideo Kojima.
The announcement of the release date of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was accompanied by a new 10-minute trailer. According to the plot, Sam Bridges will have to save humanity from extinction again, this time establishing connections between people outside the United States.
The video showed excerpts from the gameplay (traveling around the world, battles), many of the oddities inherent to the game’s world, familiar and new characters, including the smuggler Neil, played by Luca Marinelli.
Fans were delighted. Viewers appreciated the game’s eccentricity, the quality of the graphics and the references to Kojima’s past works. “Every time they show the game, it’s something completely different. And I’m wildly intrigued,” admitted BerlinTrainStation1.
