Developers Bethesda Game Studios promised to release patches for the space RPG Starfield every six weeks, but three and a half months have passed since the last update. The company commented on the prolonged lull.

Responding to a fan’s call for more open communication about the future development of Starfield, the game’s official account on the social network X assured that Bethesda has not abandoned the project’s development.
«The team is hard at work. While we’re not ready to share specific details yet, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the game this year. We can’t wait to share more about them when the time comes,” Bethesda said.
The company also thanked the fans: “We know you’re eagerly awaiting the update and we truly appreciate your passion for Starfield. We’re always listening and taking your feedback into account. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.”

The latest update for Starfield came out in November and brought with it performance and stability improvements, bug fixes, as well as the Deimog rover and The Perfect Recipe quest.
The first and so far only addition to Starfield, Shattered Space, was released in September and received mixed reviews from players. It was previously reported that new add-ons for the project would be released annually.
Starfield debuted in September 2023 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S, and Game Pass. In recent months, rumors have flared up about the game being ported to new platforms, with Phil Spencer himself hinting at this.
