Microsoft this month sent a message to Outlook.com users that the sign-in experience for its services would change: accounts that don’t manually sign out or start private browsing would remain in an automatic sign-in state. The company has now denied that message.

«”There will be no sign-in changes for users of Microsoft’s commercial (Microsoft Entra) and consumer (Microsoft account) services in February. The media reports were based on incomplete information that was mistakenly published by the Microsoft product team. The inaccurate notifications have been removed,” Alex Simons, corporate vice president of identity and network access program management at Microsoft, told The Verge.
Microsoft hasn’t specified when these changes will go into effect, but when they do, users won’t be asked if they want to stay signed in — they’ll be signed in automatically. On the other hand, on public computers, you’ll have to use Microsoft services only in private mode or remember to sign out manually when you’re done, otherwise other people will be able to use the same account.
