Discord has announced the launch of a new feature called “Ignore.” It is a more discreet alternative to blocking, as it allows you to opt out of interacting with certain other users on the service without notifying them.

The new feature does exactly what its name suggests – it lets you ignore people. Discord previously had the ability to block a user, but in some cases, that might seem too drastic. Now, users will be able to use the “Ignore” feature to avoid communicating with certain people without letting them know.

After activating the mentioned option, all activity of the ignored user will be hidden, but he will not know about it. This tool will be useful for those who want to take a break from communicating with someone, but do not dare to use blocking, so as not to seem rude. The activated “Ignore” function will hide all activity of the selected user, including text messages, notifications, status updates, etc. To activate the option, just go to the profile of the selected user, click the button with three dots and select “Ignore”.
