Following the game Rog Phone 9 Fe, ASUS announced a flagship smartphone from the base product line. Unlike the predecessor, Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra debuted in early February, and not in mid -July, and received several new advanced components and functions.

The main camera received the updated Sony Lytia-700 sensor instead of last year’s IMX890 and a six-axis mechanical stabilizer Gimbal Stabilizer 4.0, adjusting the image when driving within ± 5 °, which is 66 % more than that of the predecessor. A 32-megapixel camera with a telephone lens supports optical stabilization, a 3-fold optical zoom and 10–30-fold Hyperclarity. ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra inherited from the predecessor the 6.78-inch OLED-display Samsung E6-this is an LTPO panel with an adaptive update frequency of 1 to 120 Hz and an optional 144 Hz for supporting games. The flagship ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone connector, which is now rare in its class. The device supports Dirac Virtuo for Headphones for wired and wireless headphones. For those who prefer to listen to music without headphones, magnetic stereodynamics are provided. The smartphone frame is 100 % made of processed aluminum, and 22 % of processed glass was used in the screen production. The case complies with the IP68 protection standard. The smartphone supports 5G networks, is equipped with a tray for two Nano-SIM format cards and supports ESIM. ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra went out in Taiwan, in Hong Kong and in Europe (except Great Britain). The recommended European price is € 1100. Later, the flagship debuts in Japan.
