AMD officially denied rumors that the cost of the new Radeon RX 9070 XT video card will be $ 899. Rumors arose after the statement of the Bulgarian retailer that the novelty in this country will be more expensive than Radeon 7900 XT by $ 266. On this basis, VideoCardz calculated the estimated price of $ 899 for Radeon RX 9070 XT and $ 749 for the base RX 9070. However, Frank Azor from AMD said that the starting price of $ 899 was never discussed in the company.
Recall, Intel released the ARC B580 video card at a dumping price of $ 249, and NVIDIA set the cost of RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 at $ 749 and $ 549, respectively. Nevertheless, AMD continues to remain silent regarding the prices and characteristics of its future video cards, leaving fans to rely on leaks and rumors.
According to the latest information from unofficial sources, the new graphic accelerators from AMD are already in retailers, but the company has not yet given permission to sell them. The delay also means that independent observers cannot yet test the testing of these video cards, and users can guess about performance only based on leaks.
AMD clearly did not explain why sales delay. Perhaps this is due to the company’s desire to provide a sufficient amount of GPU at the start of sales in order to avoid deficit and speculation in the market, when resellers sell them at a price several times higher than the recommended.
In turn, experts advise not to rush with the purchase of a video card, but to wait for independent reviews to choose the best option for the price and performance between NVIDIA and AMD. The official start of sales NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti is expected on February 20. AMD will release its new items in March.
