Elon Musk’s xAI startup, which specializes in artificial intelligence technologies, has begun testing a separate iOS application for its Grok chatbot, which until now was only available to users of the X platform.
As TechCrunch reports, the Grok app is currently being tested in beta in several countries, including the US, Australia and India, offering AI features such as text processing, summarizing large paragraphs, answering questions, and generating images based on text clues. . It is also reported that the Grok application gained real-time access to data from the Internet and Platform X.
«Grok is an AI-powered assistant designed to be as truthful, helpful, and curious as possible. Get answers to any questions, create vibrant images, and upload photos to gain a deeper understanding of your world,” says xAI in the announcement.
XAI is also preparing a special website, Grok.com, to provide access to the chatbot on the Internet. Its page currently says “coming soon” if you log in with an xAI account.
Until recently, Grok was only available to paid X Premium subscribers. The company began testing a free version of the chatbot in November and made it available to all X users in early December. xAI says its chatbot’s image generator model features “photorealistic rendering” without major limitations on image generation capabilities, allowing for image creation based on photographs of public figures and copyrighted materials.
