IPhone users began to report problems with overheating and rapid discharge of the smartphone battery that arose after updating the Telegram messenger to version 11.5.2. Over the past weekend, several dozen messages about this problem appeared in the App Store from owners of different iPhone models running iOS 18.
User complaints are related to unstable operation of smartphones after installing an update for Telegram. According to reports, Messenger causes the iPhone to heat up excessively, causing the smartphone’s battery to drain faster than usual. The problem is especially noticeable when watching videos. In addition to this, users began to pay attention to increased Telegram activity in the background.
«After today’s update, while the app is open, the phone gets hot as hell and discharges by about 12% in 20 minutes. Once you close the application and unload it from memory, the phone returns to normal,” says a message from one of the iPhone owners who was faced with the problem of the smartphone quickly discharging.
At the moment, the problem with overheating and rapid drainage of the iPhone battery can only be solved by forcefully closing Telegram in the multitasking menu. It is likely that the messenger developers will soon release a patch to fix this problem.
