Developers from GSC Game World have announced that the “final” release date for post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R., announced in January. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will not be the final one after all.
Let us remind you that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was supposed to be released on April 28, 2022, but as a result of several postponements (January was supposed to be the last), the release was until recently expected on September 5, 2024.
As it became known, the game will not be released again on the appointed day. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will go on sale two and a half months later, on November 20th. The announcement was accompanied by a 45-second video with a dose of self-irony.
«We know you’re tired of waiting, and we really appreciate your patience, but these two additional months will allow us to eliminate more unexpected anomalies (or bugs, as you call them),” the GSC message reads.
GSC Game World also announced that there will be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R presentation on the Xbox channels on August 12th. 2: Heart of Chornobyl: interviews with developers, a lot of new gameplay and walkthrough of one of the quests.
«Very soon you will be able to immerse yourself in the universe of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 the way we imagined it, and we can’t wait to share new footage with you,” GSC Game World said.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is being created for PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. They promise a unique world, a non-linear plot with multiple endings, hardcore gameplay and graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5.
