As expected, the seventh patch will not be the last for Baldur’s Gate 3. Developers from Larian Studios have announced a major eighth update for their fantasy role-playing game.
The main functional features of the eighth patch of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be cross-play between all platforms (an account on the Larian Network is required) and the long-promised photo mode.
The tool (accessed by pressing F9 on a PC) includes a wide range of options to personalize your photo: camera settings, lenses, scenes, post-processing effects, frames and more than 300 stickers.
In addition, the eighth patch will add one new subclass for all character classes in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Bard – College of Glamor;
- Barbarian – Path of Giants;
- Warrior – “Mystical Archer” (Arcane Archer);
- Wizard – Bladesinging;
- Druid – “Circle of Stars”;
- Priest – Death Domain;
- Sorcerer – “Witchblade” (Hexblade);
- Monk – Drunken Master;
- Paladin – Oath of the Crown;
- Trickster – “Duelist” (Swashbuckler);
- Investigation — «Roevod» (Swarmkeeper);
- Sorcerer – “Shadow Magic”.
The subclasses listed will offer new abilities, animations, visuals, summons, cantrips, and unique dialogue interactions for the Oathbreaker Knight.
Also, the eighth patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 will bring with it bug fixes and other improvements. Stress testing of the update is scheduled for early January, and the release is expected throughout 2025.
Baldur’s Gate 3 left early access on August 3, 2023 on PC (Steam, GOG), and subsequently reached Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. According to the Irish newspaper Irish Independent, sales of the game exceeded 15 million copies.
