Arctic has introduced the first case fans in its range that can accelerate to an incredible 8000 rpm, thereby providing server-grade cooling. The rotation speed of the new product, called S12038-8K, is controlled by a PWM controller, starting from 800 rpm, and it can also be controlled by changing the voltage.

According to TechSpot, the main feature of the Arctic S12038-8K was the built-in motor cooling system. In the center of the main fan there is an additional mini-fan, which reduces the temperature of the motor by 10 degrees Celsius. This innovative approach, according to the company, doubles the service life of the device. If the fans will be operated in a dusty environment, Arctic recommends using a dust filter.

The fan motor is made of high-strength materials. Steel shaft, Japanese double row ball bearings and brass body ensure stability and durability. The diameter of the new product is 120 mm and the thickness is 38 mm. At maximum power, the fan is capable of delivering an airflow of 220 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and a static pressure of up to 37 millimeters of water column. At the same time, according to the developers, the device consumes 22% less energy than its closest analogues, thanks to optimized motor operation. The fan is equipped with a standard four-pin connector, but is also compatible with two- and three-pin connectors. An extra 30cm long cable is included for ease of connection. Arctic states that the devices can operate in ambient temperatures from -10°C to 70°C.

In practice, the new fans showed impressive results. Japanese enthusiasts from PC Ones conducted an experiment by turning on four fans at once and pointing them at a stack of cardboard boxes. The air flow easily knocked down the entire stack from a distance of more than three meters. However, testing such powerful devices was accompanied by excessive noise. The exact volume level was not calculated, but in the video on X/Twitter you can hear that the fans are quite loud.

Arctic S12038-8K is now available for purchase on Amazon. The cost of one fan is $16, and a set of three will cost $40. The manufacturer provides a six-year warranty, thereby emphasizing confidence in the quality and durability of its products.
