Swedish studio Resolution Games, specializing in games for virtual and mixed reality, has announced the release date of a collection of sports games Home Sports, which will seem familiar to Nintendo fans.
Home Sports will invite you to try yourself and test the skills of three of your friends in five sports – hockey, bowling, mini-golf, badminton and pickleball (a hybrid of tennis, badminton and table tennis).
According to Resolution Games, this is the first time such a collection of sports entertainment has been available in mixed reality. All five games are tailored to the user’s gaming space for local and online multiplayer.
As noted by The Verge, the visual aesthetics and choice of music for Home Sports evoke strong associations with Wii Sports / Nintendo Switch Sports – similar collections of sports games for Nintendo consoles.
«Wii Sports, is that you? — YouTube user bxile730 recognized an old friend. Some viewers have accused Resolution Games of copying elements of Nintendo games and even predict copyright problems for the company.
«We want our games to create real connections, provoke movement and provide fun. Home Sports meets all these requirements and demonstrates the magic of mixed reality,” says Resolution Games CEO Tommy Palm.
Home Sports will go on sale on December 11 this year (the game will become available at 20:00 Moscow time) for $20. The project will be exclusive to the Quest 3 and Quest 3S standalone virtual reality headsets.
