Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that Apple has postponed the launch of a large number of functions that were supposed to appear in iOS 19 to a later date. The message says that the new features will only appear in iOS 19.4, i.e. They will become available to a wide range of users in the spring of 2026.
This is not unusual, as Apple used a similar scenario when launching Apple Intelligence AI features in iOS 18. However, an updated version of the Siri voice assistant will also not be available until iOS 18.4 next spring, although it was announced at WWDC 2024 along with other iOS 18 features.
Gurman did not specify exactly what functions he was talking about, but noted that it’s not just about Siri. “I have been informed that a larger-than-usual number of features planned for iOS 19 (beyond Siri) have already been delayed until Spring 2026 (when iOS 19.4 debuts),” Gurman said in the post.
The journalist also recalled that Apple continues to work on a new neural network, which will become the basis for Siri in iOS 19. It is assumed that the company will present iOS 19 at its annual WWDC conference in June 2025, and the first publicly available version of the software platform will be released in September of the same year along with the new iPhone 17 models.
