Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation announced the IMX925, IMX935, IMX926 and IMX936 CMOS sensors, which feature a back-illuminated pixel structure and support for global shutter technology. The sensors are designed for industrial image processing. The effective resolution reaches 24.55 megapixels with processing speeds of up to 442 frames per second.

The sensors support Pregius S global shutter technology, providing high image quality and minimal noise in a compact size. The new circuit structure optimizes the pixel readout process and analog-to-digital conversion, allowing for four times the processing speed and two times the power efficiency compared to previous models such as the IMX530. The main model in the new line is the IMX925, which is complemented by three variants with different sensor sizes and frame rates. This allows you to select the model most suitable for image recognition tasks and testing the operation of industrial equipment, which, in turn, increases productivity in industries that require fast and high-quality visualization.

The Sony IMX925 is small enough to be C-mount compatible, making it suitable for use with machine vision cameras. The sensor is expected to support alternative operating modes, including 3D equipment inspection, which involves combining data from multiple images. The pixel size is 2.74 microns, and the SLVS-EC interface supports speeds of up to 12.5 Gbps per lane. Deliveries of Sony IMX925, IMX935, IMX926 and IMX936 sensors will begin in May 2025.
