It’s worth saying right away that functionally the 46mm and 42mm versions of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro are no different – despite the pronounced elegance in contrast to the brutality and masculinity of the “large” GT 5 Pro, they have the same class of dust and moisture protection, they are exactly the same You can also go swimming or jogging. This is an athlete’s faithful companion – simply, let’s say, capable of looking chic regardless of the circumstances.

Therefore, there is no point in talking separately about the capabilities of the “female” version of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro. Therefore, let’s go over the characteristics and capabilities briefly, focusing specifically on the design of the 42 mm version and its differences from the 46 mm one.

The 42 mm version of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro has a 1.32-inch diagonal screen (as opposed to 1.46 inches for the 46 mm GT 5 Pro), while the resolution is the same – 466 × 466 pixels. The picture is ultimately even clearer than that of a large watch; the pixel density is 352 ppi.

The dimensions of the “female” HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro are 42.49 × 42.49 × 9.6 mm, where the latter value is the width in the thinnest part of the body, without the sensor area. Strap width – 18 mm, wrist circumference 120–190 mm (ceramic version – 130–190 mm).

The above reference to the version is not without reason – yes, the 42mm GT 5 Pro has two of them. One received a strap made of fluoroelastomer, the other – ceramic. The watch itself, however, does not change depending on the version of the strap. In any case, it is made of nanocrystalline ceramics, which cannot be confused with metal or plastic either in appearance or touch. The watch both looks and feels “expensive”, which is emphasized by color accents – white interspersed with gold elements.

There is gold edging around the “bezel” (by the way, not absolutely round, but slightly angular, which makes the design more eye-catching and impressive), as well as both control elements – a round rotating button for navigation and a standard key for calling up the training menu. I note that the sides protrude slightly above the screen, which reduces the risk of scratching the glass (it is protected from mechanical damage, but such a precaution is never superfluous). The case has IP69K dust and moisture protection; the watch can withstand water pressure of up to 5 atmospheres.

The ceramic strap, matching the watch case, has gold elements on the clasp and along the edges of each segment.

The fluoroelastomer strap is made and feels simpler, but there are also interesting solutions – like a clasp, which also rhymes with the gold edging of the case, and interesting geometric patterns. In fact, in both versions, the “female” HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro (in this case I almost don’t even want to put quotation marks, the gender identity of the small version of the watch is very pronounced) really looks purely like a fashion accessory – and you can’t even believe in their capabilities. But everything is grown-up.

As an assistant device, the HUAWEI Watch GT 5 Pro can do everything you need: display notifications from basic services (can be configured in the HUAWEI Health application, their set is constantly increasing); allow you not only to receive or answer calls, but also to answer them, thanks to the built-in microphone and speaker. Alarm clock, stopwatch, time – everything you expect from a smart watch without fail is here.

There are also plenty of opportunities for monitoring your health. The set of sensors is more or less comprehensive: accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor, light sensor, barometer, skin temperature sensor, ECG sensor. The latter is built into the lower control key – the ECG is not measured in the background; this requires holding your finger on the key for half a minute. There is an “Emotions” function, which can be called a key innovation in the series. This is, in fact, an expanded and supplemented system for measuring stress that is already familiar to us. The watch determines your emotional state based on daily fluctuations in heart rate – and displays an “emotional picture” in the form of a graph. I note that the function really works – I checked my internal “stressometer” – and indeed, waves of good or negative mood are captured quite accurately. Based on identified problems with your emotional mood, the watch can recommend breathing exercises, which the HUAWEI Watch GT 5 Pro can monitor.

The watch can count steps and pulse (correctly and accurately), recommend moving if you have been sitting too long, can determine the level of oxygen in the blood, monitor sleep (and can wake you up in the right phase or at a given point in time), measure skin temperature, control breathing, etc. including during sleep. There is also a system for monitoring the menstrual cycle, which is especially important for this version of the watch.

HUAWEI Watch GT 5 Pro is equipped with a navigation module (supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, QZSS systems), which works more accurately here than before.

Of course, there is a large set of built-in training modes – from running or hiking to cycling and swimming, which can be customized individually. The HUAWEI Watch GT 5/GT 5 Pro even has a built-in cycling computer that displays key parameters on the watch screen in real time while you exercise on the bike. Also interesting is the new “Route Sketch” function, which allows you to create a “drawing” from the completed track during training. And the Reverse Route feature allows the navigation system to navigate to the starting point of your running workout. For several generations now, there has been a function called “Running Technique Analysis”, which indicates your shortcomings in this matter.

But the battery on the 42mm version of the HUAWEI Watch GT 5 Pro is installed noticeably less capacious – on one charge the watch “lives” for less than a week – from five to seven days. Although for smartwatches such figures are always very arbitrary – it all depends solely on the usage scenarios.

HUAWEI Watch GT 5 Pro in the version with a fluoroelastomer strap currently costs 39,998 rubles, with a ceramic one – 49,998 rubles. The gift includes HUAWEI FreeBuds 6i headphones.
