As promised, on November 11, publisher Bethesda Softworks and developers from the MachineGames studio (the latest Wolfenstein) staged a gameplay demonstration of the first-person action-adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The story of the game begins with the theft of priceless artifacts from under the nose of Professor Indiana Jones. Together with the Italian journalist Gina, who is trying to find her sister, the hero goes in pursuit of the truth.

During the adventure, the heroes are on the trail of a global conspiracy, in which German archaeologist Emmerich Voss is scouring the world in search of mysterious extraterrestrial artifacts.

Indiana Jones in the game looks like Harrison Ford, but speaks with the voice of Troy Baker.

Published by Bethesda, the 14-minute video with commentary by sound designer Pete Ward shows a mixture of gameplay excerpts (location exploration, puzzles, combat, social stealth) and intro videos.

According to Ward, the game’s environments encourage exploration. In addition to linear missions, players will be able to explore several vast open regions with their own side quests, characters and secrets.

What else Ward had to say about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle:

  • All found evidence, maps and other revelations of the hero will be recorded in his diary;
  • Players will have access to a wide range of tools for different needs – for example, an in-game hint system is implemented through Indiana’s camera;
  • For completing story and secondary missions, players will receive adventure points, which can be spent on upgrading their skills;
  • Tutorials scattered around the world will give you access to special skills like the ability to knock out enemies with your bare hands or survive a fatal blow;
  • In battle, the hero can use not only his fists and a whip (for example, to knock a weapon out of the enemy’s hands), but also improvised objects.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass, and will be available three days earlier for buyers of the premium edition. The game is expected to be released on PS5 in spring 2025.
