Launched in 2019, the free-to-play mobile shooter Call of Duty: Mobile from the Chinese TiMi Studio Group (Tencent) recently turned five years old, and the game has something to brag about for its anniversary.
Let us remember that at its release in October 2019, Call of Duty: Mobile showed one of the best launches in the history of mobile games and reached 270 million downloads worldwide by the first anniversary.
As it became known on the eve of the start of the fifth anniversary celebration, the total number of downloads of Call of Duty: Mobile on iOS and Android since the initial release has exceeded a billion.
The publisher of Call of Duty: Mobile, represented by Activision, clarified that the indicator is based on its own calculations, and thanked the players: “Thanks to the #CODMobile community for helping us overcome this peak!”
Call of Duty: Mobile achieved the achievement shortly before the start of the tenth anniversary content season. It is called 5th Anniversary (“Fifth Anniversary”) and starts on November 7 at 4:00 Moscow time.
5th Anniversary will bring with it a new battle royale map (Krai) with a special mission, themed events, and an anniversary battle pass with paid and free content.
In addition to Call of Duty: Mobile, Activision is currently also operating Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, released in March, but has no plans to abandon the former in the foreseeable future.
