TeamGroup presented its first memory modules of the new CAMM2 (Compression Attached Memory Module 2) format – consumer grade CAMM2 DDR5 7200 MHz and industrial grade CAMM2 DDR5 6400 MHz. The new products have become part of the branded T-Create RAM series.

For CAMM2 DDR5 7200 MHz memory modules, the manufacturer claims CL34-42-42-84 timings. The overclocked memory provides write, copy and read speeds of 108,000 MB/s, 106,000 MB/s and 117,000 MB/s, while maintaining very low latency for DDR5 memory at 55 ns. These memory modules are aimed at the consumer and gaming segments of buyers. However, the availability on the market of motherboards supporting CAMM2 format memory still raises big questions.

In the press release, the manufacturer notes that the MSI Z790 Project Zero motherboard, equipped with a corresponding CAMM2 memory slot, was used to test the modules. Board manufacturers have not yet spoken about their readiness to release solutions with memory support in a new form factor. However, MSI, Asus and ASRock previously expressed interest in using a new type of memory in desktop PCs.

In the future, TeamGroup plans to release CAMM2 memory modules supporting speeds of 8000 and 9000 MT/s.

The company says CAMM2 memory modules will be available in the first quarter of 2025. Probably, this is when motherboard manufacturers will talk more about their solutions that support this type of memory.
