Apple claims the new iMac is up to 1.7 times faster for everyday productivity and up to 2.1 times faster for demanding workflows like photo editing and gaming, compared to the previous iMac with the M1 chip.

According to Apple, “With the Neural Engine in M4, iMac is the world’s best all-in-one for AI and built for Apple Intelligence, the personal intelligence that transforms the way users work, communicate and express themselves while protecting their privacy.”

Depending on the configuration, the new iMac comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM. Interestingly, before the minimum was 8 GB of RAM. Neural Engine performance has increased by more than 3 times compared to iMac on the M1 chip.

The 24-inch 4.5K Retina display is available for the first time with a “nano-texture” glass option, which Apple says “radically reduces reflections and glare while maintaining outstanding picture quality. “With nanotexture glass, users can place iMac in even more places, like a sunny living room or a bright storefront.”

The new 12-megapixel Center Stage camera with Desk View support and wide-angle lens can simultaneously show the user and an overhead view of their workspace, useful for teachers demonstrating a lesson to students or creators showing off their latest projects. Audio capabilities include an array of three beamforming studio microphones and a six-speaker sound system.

All four USB Type-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 for ultra-fast data transfer and support two external 6K displays. Wireless interfaces include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Advanced Touch ID security makes it easy and secure to unlock your computer, make purchases with Apple Pay, and quickly switch between user profiles with the tap of a finger.

Apple Intelligence enables users to achieve excellence in their work. Siri’s new design allows you to seamlessly switch between spoken and typed requests. New Apple Intelligence features will be available in December, with additional capabilities coming in the coming months. Image Playground will help you create fun images, and Genmoji will help you generate your own emoji in seconds. In December, ChatGPT will be integrated into Siri and Writing Tools, allowing users to access its expertise without having to switch between tools.

The new iMac comes in seven colors – green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver.

Each iMac variant received a corresponding Magic Keyboard and a Magic Mouse or an optional Magic Trackpad, which connect via a USB Type-C port.

The new iMac is manufactured taking into account energy efficiency and environmental requirements. All materials used are 100% recyclable and the device is free of mercury, brominated flame retardants and PVC. The candy bar packaging does not contain plastic.

«IMac is loved by millions of users, from families to entrepreneurs. With incredible Apple Intelligence and the performance of Apple Silicon, the new iMac is once again a game changer,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware. “With M4 and Apple Intelligence, stunning new colors that stand out in any space, an improved 12MP Center Stage Camera, and a new nano-textured glass display option, a whole new era for iMac is upon us.”
