Oppo presented its flagship Find X8 series smartphones at a special event in China, the appearance of which was already known to users thanks to previous leaks. The series includes Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones.

The Find X8 smartphone is slightly smaller in size with a 6.59-inch flat LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The Find X8 Pro has a slightly larger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with the same resolution and refresh rate, which looks flat but has subtle curves on four sides. Both smartphones have displays with a peak global brightness of 1600 cd/m2 and a peak local brightness of up to 4500 cd/m2 for HDR content playback. Also, both models are equipped with 32-megapixel selfie cameras and optical fingerprint scanners under the displays.

The round camera module with the Cosmos Ring design of the new products is noticeably smaller than that of the previous Find X7 model. The basic Find X8 has a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYT-700 sensor with an equivalent focal length (EFL) of a 24 mm lens and optical stabilization (OIS). It is complemented by a wide-angle 50-megapixel module with an ISOCELL JN5 sensor with autofocus and 15 mm EGF. The third camera is a 73mm periscope with 3x zoom, equipped with a 50MP IMX882 sensor (1/1.95-inch optical format) with OIS. It uses a triple prism design that takes up less space than standard periscope lenses.

Find X8 Pro periscope cameras

Thanks to its larger dimensions, the Find X8 Pro smartphone has a second 50-megapixel periscope lens with 6x optical zoom and a 1/2.51-inch IMX858 sensor with f/4.3 aperture and optical image stabilization. The main 50-megapixel camera is also built on a larger 1/1.4-inch LYT-808 sensor. The other two cameras are the same as the base Find X8: a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto module with an IMX882 sensor with 3x zoom, phase detection autofocus and OIS, as well as a 50-megapixel wide-angle module with an ISOCELL JN5 sensor with autofocus and 15 mm EGF

Both smartphones are equipped with Oppo HyperTone Image Engine, which reduces digital artifacts and improves photo clarity. The devices also support Hasselblad’s portrait mode, and Oppo has added a new LivePhoto feature that allows short videos to be taken before and after the user takes a photo.

Find X8

The older Find X8 Pro model received a special Quick Button camera control button, located on the end and allowing you to launch the camera application by double-clicking, as well as zoom in and out on pictures.

The Find X8 series smartphones are the first in Oppo’s portfolio to be equipped with the Dimensity 9400 processor, which is complemented by a new cooling system with a graphite layer, vapor chamber and thermal conductive gel integrated directly into the motherboard.

Both models run ColorOS 15 with artificial intelligence features. The Find X8 smartphone is equipped with a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 5630 mAh, and the X8 Pro has a large battery with a capacity of 5910 mAh. Both smartphones support 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The new products also received protection from water and dust according to the IP69 standard.
