Samsung has introduced another version of the Galaxy A16 smartphone. Ten days earlier, the manufacturer announced the Galaxy A16 5G model. Now the French office of Samsung has presented a 4G version of the device. As with the 5G version, for the 4G version the company will release software updates (new OS versions and security patches) until 2030.
The Galaxy A16 (4G) model almost completely copies the characteristics of the 5G version. The device has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The smartphone is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with support for 25 W charging. The main camera set of the Galaxy A16 (4G) consists of 50-megapixel, 5-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. On the front side there is a 13-megapixel camera. The thickness of the smartphone is 7.9 mm. It is water and dust resistant with an IP54 rating.
The key difference between the Galaxy A16 (4G) is the processor. It uses MediaTek Helio G99 (two Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of 2.2 GHz, six Cortex-A55 with a frequency of 2.0 GHz, Mali-G57 MC2 GPU). The Galaxy A16 (5G) model in the European market is offered with the Samsung Exynos 1330 chip, and in India and Thailand – with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300.
The basic configuration of the device is offered with the same 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory. The latter can be increased up to 1 TB thanks to support for microSD memory cards. There will also be an option with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There is no information about the presence of a 3.5 mm audio jack on the Galaxy A16 (4G). However, the 5G version does not have it either.
The company’s press release does not say anything about the cost of the device. The Galaxy A16 4G will go on sale in November. The smartphone will be available in grey, green and blue versions.
