Energizer enters the laptop market with its super-budget EnergyBook line

Energizer, a well-known manufacturer of batteries and chargers, announced the release of its first line of laptops called EnergyBook Classic. According to the official press release, the devices will have an ultra-low price ($199) and will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2025.

As with the Nokia and Blackberry brands, the rights to use the Energizer name are distributed among various companies. According to Notebookcheck, the license to produce laptops under this brand is owned by the French Avenir Telecom, which previously produced Energizer smartphones with an emphasis on long battery life.

According to a press release from Avenir Telecom, the EnergyBook Classic line will include models with a diagonal of 15 and 17 inches, equipped with 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. A durable body and the use of environmentally friendly materials are also promised. At the same time, laptops are positioned as devices for basic needs, students and professionals, although you probably shouldn’t expect high performance from them at this price.

Notebookcheck journalists contacted Avenir Telecom for additional information about the characteristics of the devices, but the company has not yet provided any clarifications. Additionally, doubts remain as to whether Avenir Telecom will be able to sustain its $199 price tag given the product’s build quality and durability promises.

At the time of writing, no more definite information has appeared about the start of sales of the Energizer EnergyBook, as well as the specifications of the device. However, some changes have clearly emerged – an empty “Computers” category has already appeared on the Avenir Telecom website.
