QNAP Systems has announced the official launch of the myQNAPcloud Storage cloud service, which until now has been operating in beta testing mode. The platform is said to offer seamless, high-performance and secure storage for consumer and enterprise users.
As part of the service, each QNAP account holder is provided with 16 GB of space for free. Those who require more capacity are offered a variety of pricing plans, which the company says provide lower costs than competing cloud services. For example, 50 GB per month costs $1, and 500 GB per year costs $40.
MyQNAPcloud Storage integrates with QNAP NAS backup solutions, including Hybrid Backup Sync. In this way, a hybrid storage can be formed that simplifies data backup, synchronization and file sharing. Simple and convenient control, as well as comprehensive security, are promised. Information can be accessed anytime and anywhere using a variety of devices, including Android and iOS smartphones.
The myQNAPcloud Storage cloud storage is supported by 13 data centers located in different parts of the world: this ensures high speed of service. Information integrity is achieved using WORM (Write Once, Read Many) and Object Lock: QNAP guarantees protection against ransomware and accidental modification. Files can also be protected using server-side encryption. In addition to data backup, myQNAPcloud Storage can be used as a secure cloud drive.
