AMD has quietly released the least powerful processor of the Ryzen 7000 series for international sale. We are talking about the six-core and 12-thread Ryzen 5 7400F model based on the Zen 4 architecture. The chip has lower frequencies compared to its older brother Ryzen 5 7500F, which, we recall , was released last year.

The Ryzen 5 7500F is not officially available internationally. AMD released it with an eye on the Chinese market, and in a boxed package it is sold exclusively in this country. In other countries, the processor can only be purchased as part of prefabricated PCs. However, OEMs with access to this processor often offer it separately, regardless of AMD’s own policies. Thanks to this, the Ryzen 5 7500F can be found on Chinese online trading platforms, and in the US, the chip is offered by retailer Newegg for about $163. By the way, we reviewed the Ryzen 5 7500F.
The official price of the Ryzen 5 7400F is unknown, but it is logical to assume that the new product, offering weaker specifications compared to the Ryzen 5 7500F, will cost even less. It is quite possible that we are talking about $150. AMD has confirmed that the Ryzen 5 7400F uses a desktop Raphael crystal, and not a rebranded mobile APU in a desktop package.
The base processor frequency is 3.7 GHz. It can automatically overclock to 4.7 GHz, which is 300 MHz lower than the Ryzen 5 7500F. Like its older brother, the Ryzen 5 7400F has 32 MB of L3 cache and its TDP is 65 W.
AMD, as promised, continues to expand its range of Ryzen processors, and even the previous generation AM5 series of chips is receiving updates. Prior to this, the company released a purely gaming six-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D model with additional 3D V-Cache memory. AMD also did not forget about the more advanced series of Ryzen 9000 processors based on the Zen 5 architecture, having recently supplemented it with the six-core Ryzen 9 9600 model.
