Adobe launches AI feature to edit up to 10,000 images with one click

Adobe has introduced a new tool called Firefly Bulk Create, which allows you to edit up to 10,000 images simultaneously in one click. The application is built on artificial intelligence to automate batch image processing, significantly speeding up the workflow.

Firefly Bulk Create is built on top of several Adobe Firefly APIs, specifically designed for users with no programming experience, The Verge explains. The new product, launched in beta, is divided into two separate tools – “Background Remover” and “Resize”. The first allows you to quickly remove backgrounds from uploaded images from your computer, Dropbox, or Adobe Experience Manager. The second, accordingly, is used for mass resizing.

The Background Removal tool works with any image, but Adobe says it’s especially useful for product marketers. In addition to removing the background, users can replace it with a specific image or color specified by the HEX color code, creating different variations of images ready for further editing. File batches can be saved in PNG or JPEG formats, with Adobe promising to add support for Photoshop PSD files at a later date.

The Resize tool offers a range of preset options for popular banner ad sizes and platforms such as TikTok, Instagram✴ and Facebook✴. Generative AI is used to stretch image backgrounds to fit the desired dimensions. While there may be distortion in some cases, for less complex backgrounds this feature can save designers from having to manually resize marketing materials for each platform. “While services like Canva and Adobe Express also have tools to make this task easier, Bulk Create can do this with one click,” the company emphasizes.

Adobe is also said to be making publicly available Firefly Services APIs in the coming weeks, which can be used to speed up workflows in video and print production. New features include the long-awaited Dubbing and Lip Sync feature, which lets you edit lip movements for videos in 14 different languages, as well as a new InDesign tool that automatically formats text and images for print and digital media using preset templates. In addition, “digital avatars” will be available in beta, created using text descriptions and voice recordings that can be used for presentations.

It is noted that editing packages containing up to 10,000 images will require significant computing resources, so the use of new tools will be paid, and the price will depend on the resources consumed. Presumably, this means that users will need to purchase an Adobe Firefly premium plan, which provides credits that can be used to access new features.
