Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed his opinion regarding the high price of the GeForce RTX 5090. He emphasized that consumers do not want to understand small segmental differences, and for many who really want the best, $2000 is not an obstacle.

«When someone wants the best product, he will always choose the best one. You know, the market is not so segmented. And our enthusiasts, if they want the best, are not going to save $100 to get something a little worse, because they really want the best product,” Huang told reporters. — Of course, $2000 is not a small amount. But keep in mind that the PC for which you bought a monitor and a home theater-quality sound system definitely needs a very good GPU.”

During the interview, the head of Nvidia emphasized that the GeForce RTX 50 series is not just a new generation of video cards. He noted the key role of artificial intelligence, tensor cores and DLSS 4 technology, which provides a twofold increase in performance compared to the GeForce RTX 40 series. DLSS 4 brings improved image scaling and frame generation, but the main innovation is multi-frame generation technology, available exclusively on the GeForce RTX 50 series.

Despite the high price of the GeForce RTX 5090, Nvidia has reduced the cost of other models in this line. The GeForce RTX 5080 costs the same as the GeForce RTX 4080 Super ($1000), while the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5070 are $50 cheaper than the previous generation of video cards. Huang also hinted at the arrival of more affordable models, particularly the GeForce RTX 5060, saying that “60 is one of my favorite numbers.”
