Ugreen introduced a 500 W GaN charger that can power five laptops and even an electric bike

Ugreen has announced the Nexode Desktop Charger 500W desktop charger. With a maximum power of 500 W, it is capable of simultaneously charging not only smartphones and tablets, but also several powerful laptops, and even electric bicycles.

The previous generation of Ugreen chargers offered power up to 300W, but the new Nexode significantly exceeds this figure, TechSpot reports. The device is equipped with six ports: five USB-C and one USB-A. The main USB-C port can output up to 240W of power, allowing you to charge even the most demanding devices. The remaining power (260 W) is distributed among other ports, but each of them can provide no more than 100 W.

Nexode supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 standards for fast charging of compatible devices. The most powerful ports are designed to quickly charge laptops, while the rest can be used to power smartphones, accessories and other devices. For example, Nexode allows you to charge up to five laptops at the same time, or in another option, you can connect a gaming laptop with a power consumption of 240 W to the main port, devices of 100 W each to the other two, and two more gadgets with power consumption of up to 60 W.

The charger body measures 14.6 x 11.5 x 6 cm and weighs 1.8 kg. Despite its compact dimensions, this weight makes the new product less convenient to move, so it is clearly aimed at stationary use, for example, on a desktop at home or in the office.

The company calls the Nexode Desktop Charger the “world’s first” 500-watt GaN device for office use and multi-device consumers. The only thing missing, according to experts, is a screen that would help track the charging process and the ports used.

The price for the charger has not yet been announced, but it is known that it will go on sale in March 2025. Currently, you can fill out an application for purchasing chargers on the Ugreen website.
