OnePlus 13R smartphone presented with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and 50-megapixel telephoto camera for $600

OnePlus has introduced the sub-flagship smartphone OnePlus 13R, which is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm processor, as well as a 50-megapixel camera with a telephoto lens and a capacious battery.

The OnePlus 13R smartphone has a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2780 × 1264 pixels and a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The display supports 10-bit color depth, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technologies. Brightness is 1600 cd/m2 with a maximum value of 4500 cd/m2. In Glove Mode, the smartphone can recognize touches even with very thick gloves. The screen is protected from scratches by durable Gorilla Glass 7i.

The productive operation of the smartphone is ensured by the eight-core flagship processor of the previous generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which was used in many high-end smartphones last year. The chip is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 flash memory.

On the back, the OnePlus 13R houses a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYT-700 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and support for 4K video recording at 60fps. It is complemented by a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a 1/2.75-inch Samsung JN5 sensor and an f/2.0 lens with an equivalent focal length of 47mm, which gives 2x optical zoom and 4x lossless zoom. There is also an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera (112°) with fixed focus, and the front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The power source is a 6000 mAh battery with 80 W SuperVOOC fast charging, which provides a charge from 1 to 100% in 52 minutes. For protection against dust and moisture, the smartphone complies with the IP65 standard. The device specifications also include support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, an NFC chip and a USB-C 2.0 port. The OnePlus 13R comes with OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. OnePlus offers 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches.

The smartphone is made of aluminum and is available in two colors: golden (Astral Trail) and dark gray (Nebula Noir). The OnePlus 13R starts at $600 for the version with 12/256 GB of memory.
