In anticipation of the transition of League of Legends to a new development model, developers from the American studio Riot Games presented a cinematic trailer for the first season in 2025.
The five-minute video, titled “Welcome to Noxus”, was created in collaboration with Fortiche Productions, the studio responsible for both seasons of the animated series Arcane.
The trailer features intense and intriguing scenes featuring various champions, done in the Arcane visual style. The song Bite Marks performed by Austrian singer Thea plays in the background.
In less than five hours from the premiere, the trailer for the first season of League of Legends collected 5.3 million views on YouTube, over 377 thousand likes and about 96 times less (3.9 thousand at the time of publication) dislikes.
Users in the comments were delighted with the video, seeing in it a teaser for another show in the Arcane style, appreciating the quality of the animation and visual design. “This art style is just beyond crazy,” says drywater22.
The new development structure for League of Legends includes three interconnected themed seasons per year with two acts each. The first, “Welcome to Noxus,” starts on January 9 at 23:00 Moscow time.
Seasons will cover every aspect of League of Legends: new champions, modes, gameplay, events, and the Battle Pass. Individual events and skins will continue to be released, but their number will be reduced.
