Naughty Dog co-director and The Last of Us Part II director Neil Druckmann presented a new teaser trailer for the second season of The Last of Us from the stage at the Consumer Electronics Show 2025 (CES 2025).
The events of the second season of The Last of Us will unfold five years after the finale of the first: “Joel and Ellie are overtaken by their collective past, drawing them into conflict with each other.”
The teaser trailer for the second season of The Last of Us, stretching for 50 seconds, shows the main and minor characters of the story, and also hints at the dramatic events awaiting viewers.
Fans in the comments to the video were impressed by what they saw and are already anticipating the coming emotional turmoil. “Delighted and terrified at the same time,” shared user thewinterizzy.
Among other things, the new teaser trailer also includes more precise release dates for the second season of The Last of Us. As it became known, the show will start at the Max site in April of this year.
Apparently, they want to coincide with the release of the remaster of The Last of Us Part II on PC. As part of The Game Awards 2024, it was revealed that an improved version of the sequel will reach Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 3.
The continuation of The Last of Us series will be based on The Last of Us Part II, but the upcoming show will not be a complete retelling of the 2020 game. The story will be stretched over several (two or more) seasons of the show.
