Asus introduced thin Vivobook 14 and 16 laptops with Ryzen AI 300 and Snapdragon X chips with AI capabilities

Asus presented a number of new devices at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, including an updated series of Vivobook laptops. The new items, Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16, received powerful processors from AMD and Qualcomm, bright displays and more capacious batteries.

Just a few months ago, at IFA 2024 in Berlin, Asus introduced Intel Lunar Lake and AMD Kraken Point versions of the Vivobook S 14, which now retail for $910. However, this time the company relied on AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. However, as Notebookcheck reports, Asus has not yet specified which chips from the Snapdragon X series will be used in the devices. Presumably, these will be the more affordable Snapdragon X, rather than the more powerful Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite.

As for the AMD-based laptops, we know that they will be equipped with Ryzen AI 5 340 and Ryzen AI 7 350 APUs. Thus, buyers will be able to choose the device configuration on one of these two leading architectures.

Interestingly, models with Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors will be equipped with faster LPDDR5X RAM and 50 Wh batteries, unlike models with AMD processors. However, both versions of the laptops will have two USB 4 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A. The all new Vivobook 14 and 16 will also feature IPS displays with a resolution of 1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate.

According to Asus, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X-powered Vivobook 14 and 16 will go on sale later this month, while the AMD-powered versions will only be available in March. Prices for new laptops will vary depending on configuration.

Thus, Vivobook 14 X1407QA (Snapdragon X) will cost $700, and Vivobook 16 X1607QA (Snapdragon X) will cost $750. Models based on AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 will be available for $800 (Vivobook 14 M1407QA) and $850 (Vivobook 16 M1607KA). The Vivobook 16 M1607KA version with Ryzen AI 5 340 processor will cost $750.
