Contrary to expectations, a full announcement of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 video cards did not take place yesterday. AMD only briefly mentioned the new RDNA 4 graphics architecture in their lineup and pre-announced FSR 4 scaling technology. New Red cards are expected during the first quarter of this year. Many manufacturers have confirmed their intention to release solutions based on them. Gigabyte and Asus shared the first details about their new products.

Asus has announced that it is preparing to release two versions each of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 in TUF and Prime versions. The manufacturer confirmed that both cards will receive 16 GB of video memory. This information was missing from AMD’s official press release. Asus also announced that the new products will use special phase change thermal pads for the GPU – a solution typically used by enthusiasts.

TUF cards will be produced with additional factory overclocking of the GPU, but the manufacturer did not provide any technical details. It is also known that the cooling system fans of TUF models have a full stop function and do not rotate when there is no load on the graphics subsystem.

Radeon RX 9070 TUF models will have a dual BIOS system, which is rare today on current AMD card models from Asus. This feature allows you to switch between quiet and productive operating modes.

Judging by the image published by the company, the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 Prime models will each receive three 8-pin power connectors. The manufacturer also confirmed that the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 will require a power supply with a power of 750 W or more. However, the company did not report the TGP indicator of video cards.

Gigabyte is going to release new Radeon cards in its proprietary Aorus Elite and Gaming versions. The Aorus Radeon RX 9070 XT Elite will be three expansion slots thick and will feature Halo RGB lighting. It is equipped with three 8-pin power connectors and has a dual BIOS system.

Versions of the Radeon RX 9070 (XT) Gaming OC will receive two 8-pin power connectors. Both new products are currently on display at CES 2025.
