At CES 2025, HP teamed up with Adobe to unveil the world’s first portable system for rapid digital capture of materials and surfaces, the HP Z Captis. The device is based on Nvidia Jetson AGX Xavier and HP Capture Management SDK software. The system features a polarized and photometric computer vision system and is integrated with Adobe Substance 3D tools to create content with high detail and realism. The solution is aimed at designers, architects, game creators, visual effects specialists and other professionals.
Project Captis, launched in 2019, is based on HP and Adobe’s shared vision that digital content is the foundation of the digital creation ecosystem, according to a press release. The unveiled HP Z Captis system is a commercial product that enables leading brands, businesses and institutions to revolutionize their digitization processes.
Demand for 3D content creation is rapidly growing in industries such as architecture, automotive, entertainment, fashion, footwear, gaming and design. HP Z Captis enables digital capture at up to 8K resolution, which is then integrated into workflows for iterative 3D design and real-time collaboration. The system integrates seamlessly with Adobe Substance 3D Sampler.
Digitizing materials using HP Z Captis and Adobe Substance 3D Sampler increases productivity, reduces physical sample waste, and saves time and money.
HP Z Captis provides developers, researchers and engineers with a digital capture tool. The system includes APIs and containerized capture modes that can be used to develop applications related to artificial intelligence, computer vision, and local inference.
The system provides scalable solutions for generating your own image data sets, including advanced features such as photometric vision, ultra-high resolution, polarization and others. In addition, HP Z Captis allows you to deploy AI models based on Nvidia Jetson Xavier AGX for real-time inference.
The HP Z Captis system is now available for use.
