HP introduced the flagship Omen Max 16 gaming laptop with the latest Intel, AMD and Nvidia chips starting at $2,700

HP presented the flagship gaming laptop Omen Max 16 at CES 2025, which, as previously reported, received powerful hardware based on new generation Intel, AMD and Nvidia components.

The Omen Max 16 will be available with both AMD and Intel processors, including the powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 Strix Point processor with 12 cores and 24 threads, as well as the high-performance Core Ultra 9 275HX processor from the Arrow Lake series. HX with 24 cores (eight high-performance P-cores and 16 energy-efficient E-cores) and 24 streams, the frequency of which reaches 5.3 GHz. The laptop’s specifications indicate that a next-generation video card is responsible for graphics processing. It is quite possible that we are talking about a mobile version of the flagship graphics accelerator GeForce RTX 5080, which has 16 GB of dedicated GDDR7 memory and a TDP of 175 W.

In configurations with AMD processors, the amount of DDR5-5600 RAM is up to 32 GB; with Intel processors, up to 64 GB DDR5-5600 can be used. PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD capacity is up to 2 TB. When using Intel chips, a PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD with a capacity of 1 TB is also offered.

The laptop is equipped with a 16-inch OLED display with a resolution of up to WQXGA (2560 × 1600 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, a response time of up to 0.2 ms, a brightness of 400 cd/m2 (when playing HDR content – 500 cd/m2) . The display provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and has reduced levels of blue light harmful to the eyes. The user can select various display options, the characteristics of which differ from those given above.

Omen Max 16 is equipped with a full-size keyboard with four-zone RGB backlighting and Anti-ghosting technology. Device specifications also include an HP True Vision 1080p webcam, dual speakers with DTS:X Ultra support, dual array microphones, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, two USB Type-A ports, 3.5mm audio jack and an RJ-45 socket. The weight of the laptop is up to 2.7 kg, the color is white, black. The price of the new item will be known a little later.

The OMEN MAX 16 gaming laptop will be available in the coming months, starting at $2,699.99 for the base configuration.
