At the CES 2025 exhibition taking place these days in Las Vegas, Asus presented an updated gaming tablet ROG Flow Z13 (2025). The device will be available in versions with 12- and 16-core AMD Ryzen AI Max processors from the Strix Halo family. Otherwise, both versions have similar characteristics.
The developers equipped the ROG Flow Z13 (2025) with a 13.4-inch IPS display supporting a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 180 Hz. The panel uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500 cd/m² peak brightness, which provides 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage. Response time is 3 ms.
The screen has a Pantone Validated certificate, which indicates high quality color rendering. The touch display supports stylus control. On the back of the case there is a stand for comfortable use of the tablet along with the keyboard. The display is protected from mechanical damage by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The front 5-megapixel camera supports Asus’ proprietary 3DNR technology, which improves image quality in low-light conditions. On the back of the body there is another camera based on a 13-megapixel sensor.
Buyers will be able to choose between two versions of the device: the GZ302EA-XS96 model with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with integrated Radeon 8060S graphics with 40 execution units, and the GZ302EA-DS96 model with an AMD Ryzen AI Max 390 processor and Radeon 8050S graphics with 32 units. In both cases, the graphics are based on RDNA 3.5 architecture. Both chips have a built-in AI engine with 50 TOPS performance.
The tablet belongs to the Copilot Plus PC class, as it is equipped with a processor with a built-in neural processing unit (NPU), which provides high performance when performing artificial intelligence tasks.
The configuration is complemented by 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive with a capacity of 1 TB. Autonomous operation of ROG Flow Z13 (2025) is ensured by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 70 Wh with support for fast charging, so you can charge the battery from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. A 200W power adapter is included in the package. Wireless connection is provided by the built-in Wi-Fi 7 module.
To connect external devices, there are two USB Type-C (USB4) ports with support for DisplayPort alternative mode and Power Delivery technology. They are complemented by one USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, one HDMI 2.1 connector, a card reader for microSD memory cards (UHS-II) and a headset jack.
The tablet is made of aluminum alloy. The thickness of the device is 12 mm and the weight is 1.2 kg. Another difference between the two versions of the ROG Flow Z13 (2025) is that the GZ302EA-XS96 comes with Windows 11 Pro, while the GZ302EA-DS96 runs Windows 11 Home.
You can pre-order the ROG Flow Z13 (2025) from the official Asus online store. The cost of the model with the AMD Ryzen AI Max 390 processor will be $2000, and for the version with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 you will have to pay $2200.
