G.Skill has introduced new sets of DDR5 RAM modules with minimal timings. The Trident Z5 Neo RGB, M5 RGB Neo and Z5 Royal Neo series are now available in DDR5-6000 versions CL26-36-36-96 in the case of 32 and 64 GB sets, as well as CL28-36-36-96 for sets of 48 and 96 GB.
CL26-36-36-96 are the minimum timings among all memory kits available from G.Skill. Moreover, the 64 GB kit (2 × 32 GB), according to the manufacturer, is the first on the market to offer such timings for such a memory amount. The company demonstrated the stable operation of the kit with MemtestPro 4.0 on a machine with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X processor and an Asus Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard. G.Skill successfully carried out the same test with a 96 GB kit in the CL-28-36-36-96 configuration with the same processor and motherboard.
The kits are aimed at gaming enthusiasts and power users who need the best timings at 6000 MT/s for DDR5. They are revealed on “selected” boards on the X870E chipset with AMD Ryzen 9000 processors – ideal ratios of Infinity Fabric clock speed, memory frequency and memory controller are required. This kit can also be installed on a system with an Intel processor, but you will have to set the memory profile yourself: the kits supposedly support only AMD EXPO and do not have the Intel XMP profile.
Formally, nothing prevents you from installing the kit on a system with an AMD Ryzen 7000 processor on an 800 or 600 series board, but you will need to check the stability of the system. Prices for the new G.Skill sticks have not yet been specified, but they promise to be one of the most expensive DDR5-6000 kits due to tight timings: for example, a 2 × 16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit can cost from $120 to $130, and that the configuration with CL30 will cost less than $80.
