Packaging images of the MSI GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card have been leaked online, confirming the use of a GB203-400 GPU with 10,752 CUDA cores and the presence of a PCIe 5.0 interface. The card will receive 16 GB of GDDR7 memory and a 256-bit bus.
MSI is gearing up to release the new GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, and leaked packaging photos posted on VideoCardz reveal some technical details. Judging by the images, the model will be presented in the Gaming Trio OC Edition with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory and a 256-bit bus.
In terms of design, the RTX 5080’s appearance has undergone minimal changes compared to its predecessors in the RTX 40 series. Key elements, including the 2.5-slot design and three fans, remain in place. The device is equipped with three DisplayPorts and one HDMI, but the version of these ports is not specified.
On board the new video card was a GB203-400 graphics processor with 10,752 CUDA cores, which is the full configuration of the new generation Nvidia Blackwell GPU. The use of the PCIe 5.0 interface is also confirmed. The marketing characteristics indicated on the packaging have not changed compared to the RTX 40 series, and repeat the details of the previous generation of video cards.
Nvidia is expected to officially unveil the GeForce RTX 5080 at CES 2025, which is just days away. Sales will start on January 21, 2025, and at this point the card should already be sent to distributors, which is likely the reason for the leaked packaging photos. The RTX 5080 is expected to be the next step forward in terms of performance and energy efficiency, but for now, until the official announcement, key innovations are kept secret.
