MSI has unveiled the MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50 gaming monitor, which is touted as the world’s first monitor to feature a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a 500Hz refresh rate, delivering “unprecedented” smooth gaming experience with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

This is one of the first monitors to meet the VESA ClearMR 21000 standard, announced this week. This ensures natural color reproduction and brightness, as well as clear motion images, making it ideally optimized for fast-paced games. It is also one of the first monitors to meet the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black standard.
The company confirmed support for the new monitor interface DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20), providing a throughput of 80 Gbps, which is 2.5 times higher than DisplayPort 1.4a. This allows you to display a picture with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels and a frequency of 500 Hz without using Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology. G2G response time is 0.03ms.
Also reported is support for the QD Premium Color standard, which means factory calibration for accurate color reproduction (Delta E ≤ 2), the presence of a Premium Color color mode, the ability to calibrate True Color and support for True Color Sync.
The monitor features OLED Care 2.0 technology, which allows you to protect the OLED panel from fading and significantly extend its service life. The MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50 monitor comes with a three-year warranty that covers panel burn-in.
The price of the MSI MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50, as well as the release date, will be announced a little later. Apparently, this will be announced in the coming days at CES 2025.
