Apple has long taught the iPhone to detect the moment of a life-threatening collision when driving a car, calling emergency services to the scene automatically. Judging by indirect signs, Samsung has the opportunity to introduce a similar function after the debut of the flagship smartphone Galaxy S25 Ultra.
At least, as Android Authority notes, references to the “collision detection” function are present in the microcode of the future Samsung smartphone, and there is also a mention of a special sensor responsible for the operation of this function. By the way, as the source explains, it may also be present in the Galaxy S24 family of smartphones, but there are no means of controlling the profile function through the user interface. Samsung even launches the MoccaMobile application in hidden mode, which can be responsible for an emergency call in case of an accident, but so far the corresponding function on smartphones of the South Korean brand has not been announced.
There is no guarantee that the traffic accident detection feature will be available to Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone customers from day one. It is possible that the company will prefer to finalize it before the corresponding software update is released. The practice of using this function by Apple iPhone owners shows that it does not always work correctly. For example, fans of alpine skiing encountered the fact that the iPhone raised a “false alarm”, monitoring the statistics of accelerations and sharp decelerations of the user, although he was simply actively skiing.
