LG Updates Ultra-Light Gram Laptops with Latest AI-Accelerated Intel Processors

The South Korean company LG did not resist the expansion of the Copilot Plus PC platform, which involves the use of central processors that support local acceleration of artificial intelligence systems. LG’s new 16-inch Gram Pro ultra-light laptop will be the first from the manufacturer to meet Copilot Plus PC requirements, thanks to the use of Intel Lunar Lake processors.

Larger LG Gram Pro laptops with a 17-inch display and a hybrid device with a 16-inch display, as noted by The Verge, will be equipped with Intel Arrow Lake processors. In both sizes, the LG Gram Pro laptop will offer a display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 2 TB of solid-state memory, implemented in the form of an SSD drive with the fourth generation NVMe protocol. The larger 17-inch LG Gram Pro also features a discrete Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. Both 16-inch devices in this family will feature integrated Intel Arc graphics.

LG’s proprietary chatbot Gram Chat On-Device, which uses a derivative form of the large EXAONE language model, will be able to process user requests in the absence of a connection to an external network. For example, the Time Travel function will allow you to quickly find documents that the user recently worked with on the laptop. When connected to the global network, it will be possible to use Gram Chat Cloud, a chat bot based on OpenAI’s GPT-4o, which will simultaneously have access to a calendar and email client. During the first year of operation, access to this function will be free for the user, after which you will need to pay money.

All new LG Gram laptops will support Gram Link 2.0, which allows you to share documents with other devices running iOS or Google Android. You can also answer incoming calls on your smartphone from your laptop if a headset is connected at that moment, for example. Next year, LG will also launch a new entry-level Gram Book laptop in the US market, which will combine an Intel Core i5 processor, a fifteen-inch Full HD display with a 60 Hz refresh rate, a 720p webcam, and up to 16 GB of memory. DDR4 and up to 1 TB on SSD.
