Vivo introduced the Vivo Y29 smartphone, which replaced the Y28 model with the Dimensity 6020 chip, announced at the beginning of the year. The new product meets the specifications of the military standard MIL-STD-810H for protection against shocks and falls, and also has protection against moisture and dust according to the IP64 standard.

Vivo Y29 is powered by the 6nm Dimensity 6300 processor, which includes two Cortex-A76 cores @ 2.4 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores @ 2.0 GHz and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The amount of RAM LPDDR4x is up to 8 GB with the possibility of virtual expansion up to 16 GB, the capacity of the eMMC 5.1 flash drive reaches 256 GB. There is also a slot for microSD memory cards up to 1 TB.

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.68-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution (1608 × 720 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, with a maximum brightness of 1000 cd/m2 and providing 83% color space coverage.

The hole at the top of the display houses an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture. On the back panel there is a main 50-megapixel camera (f/1.8), complemented by a 0.03-megapixel sensor (f/3.0). There is also an LED ring light that pulsates in different colors when music is playing and notifications are received.

The power source is a 5500 mAh battery with support for 44 W fast charging. The smartphone’s specifications also include dual speakers, 5G support, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device runs Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.

Vivo Y29 is available in Glacier Blue, Titanium Gold and Diamond Black colors. The cost of a model with 4/128 GB of memory is about $165. The price of Vivo Y29 with the maximum memory configuration (8/256 GB) is around $225.
