On the eve of summing up the Steam Awards 2024, Valve presented ratings of the most profitable and popular games in its digital distribution service for the past year.
Top sellers were determined by gross revenue from January 1 to December 15, 2024. The top 100 is divided into four leagues: “platinum” (1st-12th place), “gold” (13th-24th), “silver” (25th-50th) and “bronze” (51st-100th).
Five 2024 releases made it to the top category – Palworld, Helldivers 2, Black Myth: Wukong, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – and seven hits from previous years, including Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate 3 and five games -services.
The list of the best new products of 2024 was compiled based on gross revenue in the first two weeks after release. The leading 12 places in this ranking were taken by:
The ranking of the most popular included projects with peak online numbers above 50 thousand people. More than 450 thousand concurrent players from the 2024 releases were attracted by Black Myth: Wukong, Helldivers 2, Palworld, Path of Exile 2 and Marvel Rivals.
Valve also presented the leaders among games on the Steam Deck and with a controller (in terms of time spent in them), as well as for VR (in terms of revenue). The notes mention an Early Access graduate category, but there isn’t one.
The 2024 Steam Best Games lists were announced in the midst of a massive winter sale. The promotion will end on January 2, 2025, and the winners of the Steam Awards 2024 will be determined on December 31 (you can vote for the finalists here).
