While Diablo IV only recently received its first story expansion and Diablo Immortal is in the midst of post-launch support, publisher and developer Blizzard Entertainment has potentially already committed to the next game in the series.
According to Noob Club, a portal specializing in Blizzard games, several vacancies recently appeared on the company’s website, indicating the development of a new gaming experience in the Diablo universe.
We are talking about vacancies for a campaign design director, ordinary and senior class designers, and leading product manager. All four specialists will be involved in the development of the Diablo universe.
It is worth noting that in the case of vacancies on the Diablo IV or Diablo Immortal team, the job description includes a mention of a specific project in the franchise, while in the listed ones it is not.
Given this, it is unlikely that the jobs mentioned are specific to Diablo IV or Diablo Immortal, although the possibility of an error/oversight on the part of the job description is present.
Last summer, then-Blizzard President Mike Ybarra hinted that Diablo V would not have to wait as long as Diablo IV – 11 years passed between the third and fourth parts.
At the release of Diablo IV, it was reported that at least two add-ons were being prepared for the game (work on the second is already underway). Meanwhile, on December 14, a major update, Shattered Sanctuary, was released for Diablo Immortal, which added Diablo himself to the game.
