Asus is preparing to announce at CES 2025 many models of motherboards based on AMD B840, AMD B850 and Intel B860 chipsets. Social media user X @momomo_us posted images of some of them.
Taking into account the names of the chipsets, it will not be easy to understand the range of new models of Intel and AMD motherboards. Fortunately, on the product packaging of each board there is a marking indicating the type of processor socket: Socket AM5 for AMD and LGA 1851 for Intel.
Next month, AMD will introduce mid-range boards based on the B840 and B850 chipsets, designed for Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 9000 processors. Intel, in turn, is preparing to announce mid-range boards based on the B860 chipset, designed for Core Ultra 200S processors with a locked multiplier.
Asus will release boards based on AMD B840, AMD B850 and Intel B860 chipsets as part of its proprietary ROG Strix, TUF Gaming and Prime series. The new products will be presented in ATX and Micro-ATX formats. Obviously, the models shown in the images constitute only part of the assortment that the manufacturer is preparing.
