Asus has announced the first mini-PC with artificial intelligence, which belongs to the Copilot+PC class of devices. We are talking about the NUC 14 Pro AI model, which visually resembles the Apple Mac Mini with the M4 chip and was first presented at the IFA exhibition in September this year. Now the manufacturer has revealed more details about the new product, but has not announced the start of sales and the retail price of the mini-PC.
The NUC 14 Pro AI will be available in five different configurations: with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor and 16 GB of RAM in the starting configuration and a Core Ultra 9 288V processor with 32 GB of RAM in the maximum configuration. According to the vendor, the performance of the GPU reaches 67 TOPS, and the neural processing unit (NPU) reaches 48 TOPS. The design provides an M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for M.2 2280 solid-state drives with capacities from 256 GB to 2 TB.
All this is packed into a compact case with a depth of 130 mm and a width of 34 mm. By comparison, the Mac Mini is 127mm deep and 50mm wide.
NUC 14 Pro AI is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the top surface of the case. On the front side there is a physical Copilot button, pressing which activates the voice assistant from Microsoft. There are also two USB Type-A interfaces, one Thunderbolt 4, a headphone jack and a power button.
On the rear panel there is a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connector, a Thunderbolt 4 interface, two USB Type-A ports and one HDMI. Wireless communication is provided by built-in Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules. The start of deliveries and the cost of the new product are still unknown.
