From January 1, 2025, smartphones running Android KitKat and earlier versions of the Android platform will no longer support the WhatsApp instant messaging service. «Every year we identify the most outdated devices and software with the fewest users. These devices, among other things, may not have the latest security updates or features necessary for WhatsApp to work,” warns the messenger development team.
Previously, Meta✴ announced the end of support for WhatsApp from May 5, 2025 on iPhone smartphones with operating system versions prior to iOS 15.1.
