GSC released for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl new patch – many have not yet downloaded the previous one

Before the users of the post-apocalyptic shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is moving away from patch 1.1 by 110 GB, as the developers from the GSC Game World studio have released another update. Fortunately, it’s not that big.

Let’s remember that version 1.1 included more than 1,800 different fixes, including the first portion of promised improvements for the life simulation system A-Life 2.0, which had failed since release (read what happened to it here).

Given the size of the patch, many S.T.A.L.K.E.R. users 2: Heart of Chornobyl probably hasn’t had time to fully evaluate all the improvements yet (or even download 1.1), but GSC has already prepared patch 1.1.1.

As happens with many major updates, along with much-needed improvements, version 1.1 brought with it some unforeseen problems. Patch 1.1.1, released in the early morning of December 20, should fix them.

In particular, in patch 1.1.1, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl prevented crashes when loading a save and during the precompilation of shaders before starting the game, which users suffered from after installing 1.1.

Launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was marred by a large number of technical problems (they even affected the ratings from critics), but the game could not be postponed again.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. Sales in two days after the release exceeded 1 million copies – according to the co-owner of GSC, the game has already paid for itself.
