Blackmagic has announced that the URSA Cine Immersive camera is available for pre-order, with the first customers receiving it at the end of Q1 2025. This is the world’s first commercial camera designed to shoot spatial video for the Apple Vision Pro headset, the manufacturer claims.

The Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera first became known in June at the Apple WWDC event, but it only went on sale now – pre-orders can be placed on the manufacturer’s website, the device will cost $30 thousand. The camera is equipped with two 8K resolution sensors (8160 × 7200 pixels) for each eye; Supports video shooting with a field of view of 180°, a frequency of 90 frames per second and support for spatial audio. 16 stops of dynamic range ensure accurate colors and detail in every frame.

The camera is equipped with a pair of 5-inch touch screens with HDR and an external color LCD display for displaying technical information. For connecting external devices, there is a 12G-SDI output, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, USB Type-C, XLR audio ports and an 8-pin Lemo connector for power. The included 8TB Blackmagic Media Module SSD is enough to record approximately two hours of spatial video in 8K resolution and Blackmagic RAW format. The Cloud Store function is supported for fast downloading and data synchronization.
