One of the few shortcomings of the adventure game The Plucky Squire, critics called its obsession with tearing the user away from the gameplay. The new regime is designed to correct this shortcoming.
Developers from the All Possible Futures studio, with the support of publisher Devolver Digital, announced that they have added a Streamlined Mode to The Plucky Squire for “hardcore gamers”, which will allow you to complete the game at a higher pace.
In the new mode, they reduced the number of not very important dialogues and hints (in particular, with the camera showing plot objects), and also cut out some of the training elements in order to less often take away control from the user.
Among other things, the update brought with it portraits in dialogues for important story characters, bug fixes and minor improvements such as the ability to change the language without leaving the game.
In addition, the developers have increased the number of save slots, simplified the search for autosaves, and added the ability to restart the current chapter – an option useful in cases where the user gets stuck somewhere.
Patch 1.15.1 with support for Streamlined Mode is already available for The Plucky Squire on PC (Steam), and will reach PS5, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch “very soon,” according to Devolver.
According to the plot, the villain Borchun throws the brave page Essay from the pages of the book and changes its history. Players will have to return the fairy tale to a happy ending, moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional worlds.
