Apple today officially announced the winners of the 2024 App Store Awards, recognizing 17 of the best apps and games for iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro and other devices within its ecosystem. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, the award winners “demonstrated incredible ingenuity” and their apps had a “long-lasting impact” on users’ lives and inspired cultural change.
«We’re thrilled to celebrate this impressive group of developers who are harnessing the power of Apple devices and technology to create experiences that enrich users’ lives and have a profound impact on their communities. The remarkable achievements of this year’s winners demonstrate the incredible ingenuity that can be unleashed through applications,” Cook said during the awards presentation.
In the “Apps of the Year” category the following were recognized as the best:
- For iPhone – Kino from Lux Optics;
- For iPad – Moises from Moises Systems;
- For Mac – Adobe Lightroom from Adobe;
- Для Apple Vision Pro — What If…? An Immersive Story от Disney;
- For Apple Watch – Lumy by Raja V;
- Для Apple TV — F1 TV от Formula One Digital Media Limited.
«Games of the Year” for Apple devices were:
- For iPhone – AFK Journey from Farlight Games;
- For iPad – Squad Busters from Supercell;
- Для Mac — Thank Goodness You’re Here! от Panic;
- For Apple Vision Pro – THRASHER: Arcade Odyssey by Puddle;
- В Apple Arcade — Balatro+ от Playstack Ltd.
In addition to honoring the best apps and games of the year across its platforms, Apple has selected six Cultural Impact winners for 2024. These apps are celebrated for the “long-term impact” they have had on users’ lives. “This year’s winners empowered users to explore their intellectual curiosity, strengthened connections among family and friends, and advocated for a more accessible world,” Cook said.
Apple rated the contributions and cultural impact of these apps as follows:
- Oko from AYES BV “combines innovation and simplicity to help users who are blind or have low vision navigate city streets with confidence.”
- EF Hello from Signum International AG “integrates a systematic approach to learning to support language learners of all levels, helping them improve their communication and better interact with the world around them.”
- DailyArt by Zuzanna Stanska “connects users with exceptional works of art from across centuries and movements, fueling users’ intellectual curiosity and wonder.”
- NYT Games from The New York Times Company “brings family and friends together across generations through a variety of fun and simple daily games.”
- The Wreck from The Pixel Hunt “offers cinematic scenes and interactive storytelling that depicts the inner struggle of the mind when faced with a crisis.”
- Do You Really Want to Know? 2 by Gamtropy “explores the nuances of living with HIV, offering users local resources and educational materials to connect with family and friends.”
